Imam Abu Idris al-Shafi’i al-Qurayshi al-Hashimi, Rahimahullah, said:
“[Imam] Layth was a greater jurist [Faqih] than [Imam] Malik [ibn Anas, Rahimahullah], but his students [didn’t preserve his knowledge] and thus wasted him.”
