Imam ash-Shafi’i {May Allah have mercy upon him} said:
“When some of the people of desires came to Imam Malik ibn Anas, he said:
“As for me, then I am upon clear evidence from my Lord and my Deen. And as for you, then you are in doubt, so go to a doubter and argue with him.”
