“And of men there is one who sells his self for the sake of seeking the pleasure of Allah; and Allah is Gracious unto his servants.”

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْرِى نَفْسَهُ ابْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ رَءُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ

{Qur’an. 2:207}

Note: This Verse was revealed in regard to ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.

Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Ali laid his life on the line, in place of the Messenger of Allah in order to allow our beloved the time to leave to make the Hijrah to Madinah with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddique.

The tribes were plotting to kill the Messenger of ‘Allah and when they entered the house, they snatched the cover off and found ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib there. This made them furious, however they knew better than to kill ‘Ali. All of the tribes had not agreed on that, there would of had to have been another meeting. This is one of the reasons they did not kill him on the spot. Ma Sha’ Allah. And Allah Knows Best.

The Migration of the Messenger of Allah and Abu Bakr is also an event mentioned in the Quran. The following Verse is in regard to when they were hiding in the cave from those chasing them.

Allah says ” The second of two; when the both of them were in the cave, when he said unto his companion: Do not worry! For truly! Allah is with us.

ثَانِيَ اثْنَيْنِ إِذْ هُمَا فِى الْغَارِ إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ لاَ تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا

{Qur’an, 9:40}

Wa Sall’Allahu ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa Ala Aalihi wa Sahbihi wa Sallam.
