Jewel #1

Alī at the banks of the Euphrates calls out to al-Ḥusayn and recalls the Karbalā prophecy.

“Patience Abu Abdullah! Patience Abu Abdullah! The bank of the Euphrates!”

From Najji al-Ḥaḏramī that he travelled with Ali God be well pleased with, he oversaw his purification. When they were in front of Nineveh and he was departing for Șiffīn Ali called out, “Patience Abu Abdullah! Patience Abu Abdullah! The bank of the Euphrates!” I said, “And what was that?” He said, “I entered upon the Prophet, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – one day and his eyes [were] flowing with tears I said,” Prophet of God has any one hurt you what is this your eyes full with tears?” He, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said, “Just now Jibrīl God’s peace be upon him stood and left from me. He related to me that al-Husayn will be killed at the banks of the Euphrates, he said and he [Jibrīl] said. “Would you like to smell -the perfume – of this soil?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “He stretched out his hand and took a handful of soil and gave it to me, and since taking that my eyes have not stopped flowing.”

[Imām Aẖmad in his Musnad volume 1 ẖadīth or page 75, Zawāid al-Musnad ẖadīth 3720, Kashf al-Astār ẖadīth 2641.]

Aẖmad, Abῡ Ya’la, al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabrānī have narrated this, the men of this narration are trustworthy thiqa and Najji is not alone with this [narration].

Jewel #2

The angel gave the Karbalā prophecy and its soil!

From Aisha or Umm Salamah that the Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said to one of them,” without doubt an angel has entered the house that has never entered before.” He-the angel- said, “this son of yours Husayn will be killed and if you want I will show you the soil of the earth where he will be killed in.” He -the narrator – said, “He brought out red soil.”

Aẖmad narrated this; the men of Aẖmad are the men of the Șaẖīẖ [of Imām Bukhārī]

[Imām Aẖmad in his Musnad volume 2 ẖadīth or page 294, Zawāid al-Musnad ẖadīth 3721.]

From Anas bin Mālik, that the angel of rain sought permission from his Sustainer to come to the Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – permission was granted it. He, -God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said to Umm Salamah, “there is an angel upon me at the door do not let anyone enter upon me.” He -Anas bin Mālik- said, “al-Husayn bin Ali came and I forbade him and he jumped, entered and sat on the back, shoulders and neck of the Prophet, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family,” he -Anas bin Mālik- said, “the angel said to the Prophet, -God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – “do you love him?” He, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said, “Yes.” He [the angel] said,
” Indeed, your community will kill him, if you want I will show you the place in where they will kill him,” he – the angel – struck with his hand and brought forth red soil. Umm Salamah took it and packed it in her head covering. Thabit said it was conveyed to us that it indeed was Karbala.

Aẖmad, Abῡ Ya’la, al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabrānī narrated with their chain of narrators in them is ‘Ammārah bin Zādhān a group have declared him thiqa trustworthy, however in him -there- is weakness du’af the rest of the men rijal of Abῡ Ya’la are the men of the ṣaẖīẖ [of Imām Bukhārī].

[Imām Aẖmad in his Musnad volume 3 ẖadīth or page 242, Zawāid al-Musnad ẖadīth 3718, Kashf al-Astār ẖadīth 2642.]

Jewel #3

The Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said, “they will kill him and be believers in me?”

From Abu Umāmah who said: The Emissary of God, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said to his wife’s, “Don’t you let this child cry!” Meaning Husayn. He said, “That day it was the day of Umm Salamah, Jibril descended and the Emissary of God – the prayer and peace of God be on him and his family – entered within.
He said to Umm Salamah,” Don’t invite anyone to enter upon me.” Husayn came and as soon as he gazed upon the Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – in the house he wanted to enter.
Umm Salamah took him and embraced him and started to calm and sing to him and as his crying intensified he freed himself from her and entered until he sat in the room of the Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family.
Jibril said to the Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – “that your community very soon will kill this son of yours.”
Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – said, “they will kill him and be believers in me?” The He said, “Yes they will kill him.” Jibril took some soil and said, “in a place like this and this.”
The Emissary of God, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – came out embracing Husayn in a very sorrowful state. Umm Salamah thought that he was angry for letting the child enter upon him. she said, “O Prophet of God, I be a sacrifice for you, without doubt you said to us, “Don’t let this child cry,” and commanded me not to permit any one to enter upon you. He freed himself and he did not return him to her.
He came out to his companions and they were sitting and he said, “That my Community will kill this.” In the people were Abu Bakr and Umar and both were the most rewarded of the people upon him, and they both said, “O Prophet of God, they will be believers?” He said, “Yes and here is its soil.” They were shown it.

Al-Tabrānī narrated it and its narrators are trustworthy [Thiqqa], and in some of them there is weakness [du’af]

[Al-ṬabrānῙ in al-Kabīr number 8096]

Jewel #4

As to that [then] your community will kill him in the future!

From Ibn ‘Abbās he said, “al-Ḥusayn was sitting in the room of the Prophet – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – and Jibril said, “Do you love him?” He, – God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family, – said, “How would I not love him? He is the fruit of my heart!” He [Jibril] said, “As to that [then] your community will kill him in the future, shall I not show you the place for his grave?” And he took a handful, and the soil was red.”

Al-Bazzār narrated it, his men are trustworthy [thiqqat], and regarding some of them there is a difference of opinion.
[Al-Kashf al-Astār number 2640]

From Alī, he said, “For they will kill al-Ḥusayn, indeed I know the soil in which he will be killed near to al-Nahrayn.”

Jewel #5

“Blood of al-Husayn and his companions!”

The Karbalā prophecy which was transmitted by the two ladies Āisha and Umm Salmah the mother of the believers, the peace of God be on them. From the companions our lord and master ‘Alī bin Abῡ Ṭālib the peace of God be on them both, Ibn ‘Abbās, Anas bin Mālik, Abῡ Umāmah, and Abu Ṭufail God be well pleased with them. Abῡ Bakr and Umar both were informed by the Emissary of God who was informed by Jibrīl and other angels that his own community would kill him.
The grandfather knew about the end of his grandson from childhood, the father knew how and where his son and his companions would fall. The angels gave the soil from where the grandson and son would fall, the grandmother wrapped the soil in her scarf. The grandfather gathered the blood of his grandson and his companions with dishevelled hair these are all authentic narrations.

From Ibn ‘Abbās he said, “I saw the Prophet -God’s prayer and peace be upon him and his family – in a dream in the middle of the day dishevelled and covered in dust and with him was a container and in it was blood collected or in it was something collected, and I said, “What is this?” He said, “Blood of al-Husayn and his companions [we have] not stopped collecting it from the day.” [Ammār said, “We preserved that, and we found that he had been killed that day.”]
Aẖmad and al-ṬabrānῙ narrated it, the men of Aẖmad are of the Șaẖīẖ.
