We only have the books listed on the e-books page.
Salaam ‘Aleykum,
On “The Treatise of al-Akhdari”, there is an important mistake made in the translation of the the obligatory parts of tayammum. It says that we must go up to the “wrist” when it is up to the “elbow”.
Regars
Wa Alaykumus Salam. In regard to Wudhu, it is an obligation to wash and rub all the way up to the elbow, however in regard to Tayammum, we as Malikis only have to go up to the wrists.
USTADH.
I understand. There is a difference in opinion in the Maliki mazhab about which is obligatory as mentioned in the Rissala. The differences inside the mazhab’s taken into consideration, the direct translation of the Al Akhdari’s point of view is that of the elbow, so shouldn’t reflect the nature of its original text? Al Akhdari says “Kouhaini” not “Misfiqaini”
According to what I have been taught. It is a Sunnah act of Tayammum to wipe all the way to the elbows and Allah always Knows best.
According to my understanding of the whole picture. In the Maliki Madhab, it is a Sunnah to wipe all the way up to the elbows within Tayammum. The obligation is only the wrists, as is the opinion in the more advanced books of the Madhab. Allah always Knows best.
Thank you for the clarification and sorry for the confusion everyone. By the way, this website is excellent and a great source of knowledge. May Allah reward and forgive those involved in the making of it and all Muslims.
